Prof. Dr. İsmail CEYHAN

Prof. Dr. İsmail Ceyhan was born in 1962 and completed his undergraduate education in 1985 at Ege University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology. He finished his specialization training in Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology at the Ministry of Health Refik Saydam Hygiene Center in 1990, and subsequently earned his PhD in Microbiology from Ankara University Institute of Health Sciences in 2003. In his academic career, he received the title of associate professor in 2013 and professor in 2020, serving as the Head of the Nursing Department at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Health Sciences. Throughout his professional career, he has conducted significant research on infectious diseases (particularly tuberculosis), laboratory safety, and microbiological diagnostic methods.

Prof. Dr. Ceyhan has served as principal investigator and researcher in numerous national and international projects, participating in scientific studies supported by the European Union, World Bank, and TÜBİTAK. He has scientific publications with over 700 citations, along with numerous books, book chapters, and presentations at national and international conferences. He has received several awards for his contributions to microbiology and infectious diseases, and is particularly recognized for his work on developing new diagnostic methods for tuberculosis. With his scientific expertise, he is regarded as one of the leading academics in public health and laboratory microbiology in Turkey.
