Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuncer Çaycı was born in Amasya in 1974. After completing his primary and secondary education there, he entered Gülhane Military Medical Academy (GATA) in 1991 and graduated as Medical Lieutenant in 1998. Following his military duties, he completed his specialization training at GATA Department of Medical Biochemistry between 2001-2004, and served as Biochemistry Specialist at Erzurum and Malatya Military Hospitals. He stepped into academic career in 2008 when he was appointed as assistant professor at GATA, and received the title of associate professor in 2012. Between 2013-2014, with reference from Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar, he conducted studies in "Clinical Applications of Mass Spectrometry" and "Proteomics" at the University of North Carolina, USA, gaining significant international scientific experience.

Since 2018, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çaycı has focused on Traditional and Complementary Medicine (GETAT); he holds Ministry of Health approved certificates in Acupuncture, Phytotherapy, Ozone, Mesotherapy, Hypnosis, Hirudotherapy, and Cupping-Hijama applications, and has served as an instructor in ozone therapy training. Between 2019-2022, he practiced GETAT applications in his private clinic, and later worked as Biochemistry Specialist and GETAT physician at Çorum Private Hospital. After serving as Associate Professor Senior Colonel Physician at Ankara 4th Corps Command in 2024-2025, he retired from the Turkish Armed Forces. Currently continuing his duties as Biochemistry Specialist at Ankara Private ENA Laboratory, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuncer Çaycı has numerous articles published in national and international journals, scientific books, and awards. He is married and father of two children.
